The Profit Margin: July 3, 2023
Statistic of the Week
A recent study of Gen Z and Millenials found that over half of the members of these age groups (57%) are dependent upon their parents to pay their everyday bills. Experts suggest that the parents of the members of these generations build stronger financial boundaries between themselves and their children, as their behaviors will likely impact the retirement trajectory of the parents.
Global Perspective
Before they seized power in 2021, the Taliban depended on the opium trade to fund their insurgency. However, they are now attacking this drug trade. In April 2022, approximately 120,00 hectares were used in opium production. Today that figure stands at less than 1,000 hectares. Poppy production will likely drop 80% between 2022 and 2023.
