Tom Cahill, CFA®, CMT®
Partner / Chief Investment Officer

Tom Cahill is the firm’s Director of Investment Management. In addition to managing client portfolios, he chairs the investment committee, oversees the research effort, and produces proprietary research for the firm.

Tom works closely with the other portfolio managers to determine appropriate asset allocations, implement risk control measures, and identify high-quality investment solutions.

Investors today are subject to an immense amount of data that they must process in order to make good investment decisions. One of the primary ways he serves the firm, and its clients, is by distilling the vast amount of financial data into coherent, actionable investment strategies. This is achieved through rigorous analysis of fundamental, quantitative, and technical data. A weekly report is issued to help the portfolio managers to discover global opportunities and risks.

An industry veteran, he began his career in investment management in 1994. Prior to joining Ventura Wealth Management, he held positions as a financial analyst and portfolio manager with portfolio management teams at Prudential Securities and Salomon Smith Barney.

Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Rutgers University with a specialization in monetary and financial economics. He is a holder of both the Chartered Financial Analyst® and the Chartered Market Technician® designations. Tom also holds the Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses. He is a member of the CFA Institute, The New York Society of Securities Analysts, and the Market Technicians Association. He has been quoted in multiple financial publications including Investor’s Business Daily, Investment News, and Barron’s Online.

When not analyzing the financial markets he spends his time volunteering in the community, enjoying the outdoors, writing, and playing music.
